Max co-writes and plays piano with the band waverley keys which was formed in 2010 with cellist Steph Patten and violist Ella Baruch after a successful collaboration on a theatre project in Paris. Much of their music is written in the village of Innellan near the Scottish town of Dunoon, where the view from the cottage window is of the vast Clyde estuary with it's passing dolphins, submarines and the occasional appearance of Waverely - the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world and the band's namesake. The landscapes from this beautiful part of the world have had an effect on the band's sound, with its hints of classical, soundtrack and popular music.
waverley keys have performed at many venues in London including the Union Chapel, as well as at festivals such as Wilderness, The Nursery and Open City, where their performances are often accompanied by projected film or live illustration. Their debut album, currently in production, will be available in 2013.
